Souvenirs with Style and Class

We carry an extensive collection of beadwork from the T'boli tribe of Southern Mindanao, in the Lake Cebu area. Extensive work goes into each piece as colored forest seeds, glass beads, and brass bells, are combined in intricate artistry. And much like their dialect, the tinkling of the bells soothes as if from a less harsh world.

We also carry shell creations such as chandeliers, various shell curtains, bead curtains, bamboo curtains, and combinations of all three.

Necklaces in mother of pearl, boars tusks, barrettes, anklets, bracelets, and belts.

Souvenirs Unique and Ageless

The subtle workmanship put into some of these pieces is really impressive. Each sun face an individual, Each coco carving a reflection of the root's character, as well as that of the artisan..

Hardwood roots sculpted by the sea and hand rubbed to a shine by people who obviously appreciate their finds.

One of my favorite pieces is a musical instrument made from a section of bamboo (pictured above), with a guitar string down the middle. Secured at one end to the bamboo with a thru tuning key, and at the other via a button centered on the small deerskin drum head, producing a combination of string and percussion sound upon striking the center of the drum.

Studded with boars teeth, these act to tension the head, while the other end a tuning key is used for tuning the string obviously.

Looks and sounds too cool.

We also carry the "two string" guitars, and will soon get in another collection of drums .......... the real deal used by the tribal performers, not big city knockoff crap.

Souvnirs Born of Function

Bottle baskets, woven-in bottles, jars, and all kinds of containers. Unreal the different materials and methods they employ, and the functionality it imparts.

Backpack baskets, hats, cell pouches and mats. I'm so impressed that I have no doubt the greatest thing in board bags is going to be from rattan or bamboo, and I'm dying to commission some.
